Tasty Thursday

What's a girl to do when she really wants rice krispy treats and oreos?  Well that predicament didn't last long.  Crush up some oreos and add it to your rice krispy mix.  What would've lasted a week...possibly two in a normal household lasted us, oh, maybe three days...I would have one for breakfast and one or two later for snacks.  Hey.  Don't judge.

And, want to know a good alcoholic drink if you don't like the taste of regular beer.  Lager + lemonade.  It's called a Radler, or some might even call it a Shandy.  Either way, it's delicious and I could seriously see these creeping up on a person.  I happened to use Land Shark since that's what we had.  Mix equal amounts of lemonade and beer, this'll depend on your taste preference, half and half is just a good starting point.  With summer coming, this'll be a great drink.  Let the young ones drink the lemonade and you'll drink the Radlers.

Frozen Coffee

Ok.  So I'm not really sure if this is a Frappucino or Frozen Coffee or whatever.  I do know that this was delicious.

I'm an occasional coffee drinker.  And when I do drink it, lots of creamer has to be in there for me to even put that to my tongue.  I can't stand the taste of black coffee.  Those that do, you're a breed of your own...

I rarely go to Starbucks or any other coffee shop for that matter.  But when I do, I like to get those specialty coffee drinks.  Frappes, frozen coffees, mochas, lattes, etc.  Pretty much, if it doesn't taste like coffee, I'm game.

Anyway, I made my own version of all those fancy drinks I'd normally pay $5.25 + for.

If you have leftover coffee in that coffee pot, it's a great way to use that.  Or if, like me, you have a Keuring, you can just make a single cup of strong coffee and let it cool.

Here's what I did:
-Made ice cubes from that cooled coffee
-In a blender, tossed in some coffee ice cubes, a couple of scoops of chocolate ice cream, some caramel syrup, some chocolate chips and some milk.
-Whizzed that stuff together and I had myself some deliciousness.

I had enough ice cubes leftover so I tried it again.  That time, I used a little more ice cream and milk and the consistency was better suited for my taste.  Since everyone's taste is different, there's alot of room to play with ratios in this drink.  And you can use just about any ice cream, toppings, syrups and milks.  Heck, I'm thinking cookies and cream ice cream with some mint extract and chocolate milk wouldn't taste half bad...

Pineapple Lemonade Punch

Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial start to summer and with the temperatures lately, it definitely feels like summer.

I wanted to make a nice little drink for the holiday and I came across one through Pinterest.  This drink came from Froggy and the Mouse.

One cup of lemonade mix (I used Countrytime).  Two cups of water.  A 46 ounce can of chilled pineapple juice.  Two cans of chilled Sprite.  Mix all of it together.

The BF and I thought the pineapple was a little too sweet, but we added some Bacardi rum and it drowned out some of the sweet.  It was actually a little hard to taste the rum...which could be a bad thing.  I had 2 glasses of this stuff and I had a bit of a buzz.  It's a nice adult ending to a hot day :)

I also got my Warby Parkers a couple of days ago, and I'm in love with them.  I find them to be really flattering on my face and they were so much cheaper that going to LensCrafters.  I lurve them...

Stay classy,
Heidi
